I come to your site to calm the kundalini....and soothe my soul... "Lighten Up" needs to be played to every being on this earth...I makes me smile and laugh outloud.... My God, it is more than therapeutic...Its Love itself!!!!

Shawn, you deserve to have people GET you 'cause our hearts ache and YOU DELIVER!

-- O.T., Boulder, CO

I enjoyed your music very much. It made me feel great! You have a real gift. I especially loved “Lighten Up”, and then liked “Carry Me Home” next. They both gave me chills. “Lighten Up” brought a smile to my face and made me dance in my chair. Thank you again. I enjoy your music very much so.

I was having a REALLY pissy, funky, nasty little day and I stopped by to look at your extremely cute frog and snail pic and listen to some tunes, thinking it might lighten my mood a little. After listening to "Lighten Up" 3 times and all the others as well I am now in a MUCH better mood and can go back to work without killing somebody. so thank you for saving my sanity and keeping me out of prison...love you much!

-- Natalie, Long Beach, CA

I know "Lighten Up" is everyone's fav, and it's the most recognized of your following, but I think your best work of art, because of it's phenomenal lyrics, and how the lyrics so perfectly fit in with the melody, is definitely, unequivocally "Carry Me Home."

-- Adrian, Banning, CA

You are an inspiration. When I watched you play in Riverside, CA at the coffee shop, you taught me quite a few things. One, that a "performance" engages an audience and the level of confidence needed to pour it all out becomes greater the less we take ourselves so seriously. Have fun, believe in what we do, and move forward always with the intention of success.

I hope to be playing some actual "shows" soon and having someone out there as encouraging and positive as you out there is an absolute asset not just for other musicians/performers but people in general.

-- Jamin, Riverside, CA

Shawn, you're an inspiration!

Your House parties uplift the human spirit.

-- Cynthia, Boston, MA

I always like "Lighten Up" because it reminds me to lighten up. You are an inspiration to keep on the path of ones dream and how to share ones self lovingly and honestly.

-- Bragitta, Austin, TX

Shawn I think this music is brilliant. It’s making me feel SUPPORTED and RELIEVED. And I’m a bit of a snob about recorded music and since I’ve only heard you play live up until now, I’m psyched to hear such a groovily presented production.

During the course of the day I had the chance to listen to all 6 songs, a really enjoyable experience! Here are my thoughts and feelings on each:

  1. Garden of Dreams – Love this one! I felt motivated and energized to re-double my effort to re-invent and re-create myself, and to pull weeds from the ‘Garden of my Dreams’. After all, to “keep on creating, inventing, celebrating Life” is what we’re here for, what spiritual growth is all about.
  2. Carry Me Home – A wonderfully deep, love song, based on a real understanding of love beyond superficial attraction and need.  I felt reflective, appreciative of those I    love and those who love me. Left me with a glow of warm happiness inside.
  3. Lighten Up – A Classic! Should be the anthem of all your Conscious Celebrations. Listening to it always makes me fell ‘lighter’, more relaxed, happy, smiling and dancing inside and out. And somehow gives me permission to be myself and makes it easier to accept myself, even with all of my shortcomings.
  4. Rocket Ship – Another great song about the journeys down dead-end paths we all take. Left me feeling a little foolish for hanging on as hard as I sometimes do to my failures, and reminded me, encouraged me remember that no matter what, Life is always there to be celebrated.
  5. Movin’ On – This one left me kind of neutral. A good singer/songwriter/coffeehouse-type song, maybe a little more commercial than the first four, but not as deep or spiritually inspired.
  6. What You Want – Liked this a little better than Movin’ On, but still didn’t touch me as deeply as the first four. Still, I like the theme of honest communication, of asking for what you want in a relationship, while giving all the love you can. Perhaps more populace appeal than your others, with a worthwhile message.

I listened to your songs - I have the CD and know them pretty much by heart.  I love your energy, I love you positive attitude, I love that you are willing to poke fun at  yourself.  Who you are for me......bright light, loving heart, courageous adventurer, a touch cocky (not a bad thing!), artistic explorer, melodic singer.

--Charlotte Thies, Marshfield, MA

All I know is... I am humming "don't take yourself so serious" whenever I need to let a little stress out!

--Rika, New Haven, CT

I REALLY liked your music…you are so very talented and it is obvious you have spent more than a few hours practicing!!! Great job…I liked song two better than song one but I think it's mostly b/c it's late at night and I am not in an energetic mood. If I were I think I'd like song one as much as two. They “feel' so different.
